One Month Check In
Well…the first month of the year has gotten off to a very slow start. I started the year with a back injury. Fortunately, I was able to try something called Postural Therapy which is a magical cure for back pain. After one session, I went from an 8 on the pain scale to a 2.
When I don’t feel well, I eat. I eat ALL the things that comfort me - which in my world is anything sugary, pastry - baked - homemade. Sugar is my weakness, my addiction and probably the number one obstacle in my wellness journey.
Sugar inflames my arthritis and prevents weight loss. I can train until the cows come home but if I am not eating well, I will only get bigger. This is intensified when you are going through menopause.
The good news…My hormone replacement therapy is working. I have finally stopped having hot flashes so I am sleeping better and am more comfortable.
Let’s be honest…changing habits from bad to good is one of the simplest but most difficult things we humans struggle with.
I am a determined girl, however and I know that with perseverance I can overcome my addiction to sugar - just like you can overcome almost any obstacle that may lie in front of you.
Every single day is a new opportunity to start over, to start fresh - to wake up and make good choices.
The WINS of January:
HRT is WORKING - no more hot flashes, much better sleep.
Postural Therapy is a remedy for my lower back pain and it’s easy and accessible to anyone.
Had a wonderful trip to Dallas to visit my sisters, my nephew and my niece. It is important to tend to relationships that matter to us. This was a much needed visit for all of us. My sister recently lost her husband and was in need of some TLC.
Bring on February!!!!
